Balance and Bones – Friday

This class is designed to increase bone strength, maintain strong muscles, flexibility and balance. We do upper and lower body exercises with small weights, a balance component, stretching and a relaxation and mindfulness component. The program is designed to improve strength of muscles and bones and to help prevent falls.

Helene Redding
Helene is a retired Physiotherapist who had a personal interest in exercise to strengthen bones as her mother had severe Osteoporosis, many falls and fractures.Tests showed that her bone strength was not as good as it could be. Helene started working with small weights and had warded off Osteoporosis. She has not broken any bones when she has fallen off her bicycle. Her posture has also improved.
